Taste spicy chili is a key Reduction Pain

KOMPAS.com - Capsaicin, the spicy flavor and cause a burning sensation in the chili, it opens the way for drug discovery, pain reduction (painkiller) latest.


Research shows that capsaicin-like compounds are also found in the human body, especially the parts that hurt. When production of these molecules in cells can be inhibited, chronic pain will stop automatically.


A number of researchers from the University of Texas, United States, said that while there are parts of the body injured, the body will issue a similar chemical called capsaicin metablites oxidized linoleic acid (OLAMs) which will be captured by the receptors in the brain as pain.
Dr. Kenneth Hargreaves, senior researcher, and his team tried to examine whether the delivery of these messages can be inhibited. Research on laboratory rats showed, by eliminating this receptor gene, body's sensitivity to capsaicin is reduced. This means that, the pain will not really considered.


"This study provides a better understanding of pain mechanisms and how to overcome them," said Dr Hargreaves. She hopes someday to produce drugs that can reduce pain, especially that caused cancer and inflammatory diseases of a chili.
